Appalachian Songwriters Retreat 2026

I hope this finds you well and enjoying the longer days.

It’s wild to realize that Lord, it’s already May, but I’ve got an extra dose of spring in my step because summer is really shaping up!

John and I have been working on new songs in the studio, have a slew of shows and workshops on the calendar—and, as always, there are more schemes up my sleeve besides. I’m co-writing a helluva lot, and investing as much energy as I can into filling my well: reading, woodshedding, scribbling down ideas, getting outside, and spending time with my people.

Make a note that registration is open for Hindman’s Appalachian Songwriters Retreat, August 13-16!

Opportunities are wide open for you to listen, learn, and share (and record) your music during the retreat weekend. It’s a window into the mind of some of the most vibrant and prolific Kentucky artists. They are a fantastic group of people (if I say so myself) who are there for insight, encouragement, and brainpicking.

My workshop will be on Friday, August 14 at 1pm.
